Download Categorisation

Exactly what download goes into what category? If you asked that question, this page has the answers.
Adventure / RPG:

Games that involve characters having to complete quests, kill monsters, gain experience and/or raise levels etc are classified here. They may range from games like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis to Exile.

Arcade:

Here's the bulk of the downloads. Basically, any non-turn based, constant action game is classified under arcade. These include pinball games, 3D games, shooters, etc. There are exceptions, namely arcade-cum-puzzle games which require puzzle solving and may be found in the Puzzle section, and classic arcade games, which are explained later.

Board:
Well, games played on a board that don't fit anywhere else. Examples would range from Chess to Monopoly. Games such as board based war games which can be classified elsewhere (in this case, strategy) won't be found here.

Cards / Casino:

Gambling games and card solitaire games. Blackjack, Roulette, Sir Tommy solitaire, Yahtzee etc.

Classics:

Well, the arcade section grew kinda big. Too big. So this takes some of the heat off it. All those games we played long ago in the 80's, 70's or even 60's will be placed here. Now you know where to find Pac Man. Also, any games which are based on these classics, such as remakes of Tetris etc will also be categorised here.

Simulation:

The games here are not so much games, but more of 'toys', a system which you can play around with, without much objective to win or lose.

Sports:

Anything to do with physical sports. Some my be arcade like, but so long as they are based on a sport, they will be found here.

Strategy:

Games of though, planning, not so much puzzle games, but those on a larger scale, such as war games.

Utilities:

Not games, but programs which aid gaming pleasure. Stuff like save file converters, processor slowing programs, dice rollers etc. fit right here.

These are the guidelines that I will try to stick by, but I have only implemented this recently and so not all of the downloads may conform to this. Generally however, you should be able to find what you want going by these rules.
